Kettlebell

The trend towards movement based fitness training has sparked the popularity of the kettlebell. Kettlebell training is more functional than isolation exercises and trains the body to work together, the muscles work as one. This allows for more benefit in less time and decreases the chance of injury.

By working more muscle groups at one time, kettlebell training provides more flexibility and increases strength without increasing muscle mass. This is awesome for those of us who want to improve athletic performance instead of only working to gain mass.

Kettlebell training comes with some risk. Coordination and practice are necessary to perfect the kettlebell exercises. The movements are different than most other training regiments and we recommend using a professional trainer to start. Once you get the hang of it, expanding the scope of the training is easy.

We recommend that men start off with a 26.5 pound Kettlebell and women use the 18 pound KettleBell. As with most fitness training, perfecting the proper motion is the key to successful training and minimizing the risk of injury.
